Saturated Canary Challenge #10

Hello again. Thanks for stopping by today. I have a card for the challenge over at Saturated Canary this week. The challenge this time is Red, Pink & White. I used this adorable image called Nevaeh. I really love how she turned out. She is so sweet.

I used my Prismacolor pencils to color her. I also used a stamp from Inkadinkadoo to fill in the background edges.

The white lace is from my stash. This piece was all I had left and it fits perfect. It was meant to be :) The brown trim is from Hobby Lobby. I think I need to go back and get the rest of the colors :) lol Having a stash is great when you are creating. With a stash you can pick from everything to make the best decision for your project.

The inside was alot of fun to put together. The background papers are from Basic Grey. They are called praline and raspberry cream (good thing I'm not hungry right now).

The top has two ribbons layered together. The crocheted doily is from my stash as is the button. The seam binding is from Wild Orchid.

I did something a little different on the bottom panel. I used a MS PATP to make a panel. Then I added a small card on top of that.

I was thinking about this idea as I woke up this morning. Does that mean my head is getting better from being whacked so hard? I hope so. Anyway, I like how this turned out and I may have to use it again.

The great sentiment panel is from Rubber Punkin. She has great stuff. Go check her out. The free printable can be found here. I plan to use most of them on Valentines for all my children.

Mo's Challenge #120

Hello friends. Thanks for stopping by. I have a card using another great image from Mo's. This time I'm using Winter Fairy Halla who is just the sweetest thing.

I colored him with my Prismacolors and added some clear Stickles to the frost he is blowing. And there's something on his wings, but since I colored him a couple weeks ago and didn't get the card together for the challenge I don't remember what I put on them....so sorry. It's hard to tell in the picture, but I added gold microbeads from MS to the upper left and lower right corners. They look great, but I think I need a better adhesive next time. At least they seem to be done falling off.

My papers are from MME. The white piece is embossed with my Cuttlebug embossing folder, Snowflakes. I've used it alot and still love it.

The tulle and beads are from my stash. The blue seam binding is from Wild Orchid.

The writing panel is stamped with an old snowflake stamp from my stash. It's probably been around for 20 years.

Mo's Challenge #117

Hi friends! Thanks for stopping by today. I have another card for Mo's Challenge Blog. This week is Clean & Simple. It's not usually my favorite technique, but with the fractured wrist, a little less in the embellishment department wasn't a bad thing. Honestly, the small amount of coloring on the card took me almost 3 days of sporadic coloring to finish. Don't tell my husband, but I removed the bandage on my right arm to do the coloring. I figure if the arm is that bad they would put a real cast on there. Ace bandage? Meant to be adjusted at times....right?? Anyway......I used an image that I've used before, but this time it looks completely different.

I used Siku & Shiya. They are too cute. I used them here on a great box. Lots of work but I'm still in love with it. :) This card has no embellies....but its growing on me. And it's for my hubby for Valentine's Day and he doesn't like embellies so it's all good. I used a Nestie to draw a circle around their faces. I'm still not sure if that is obvious. I hope it is.

See?? There's not much to say about this card cuz there's pretty much nothing on it except Mo's great image. OMG!!!! I just remembered.....I was chosen for a prize last week at Mo's!!!! That was so cool and really made my week!!!! I have been slowly getting better from the accident and when I saw that I texted EVERYONE to tell them :) lol I assume they were all properly impressed! Thanks Mo! I LOVE your images and am so glad to be getting more. :)

Mo's Challenge #116

Hello, thanks for stopping by today. I have a fun new card today. I've never used this fold and it turned out great! I'm so glad Mo posts what the upcoming challenges are, because I was riding snowmobiles with 3 of my boys 3 nights ago and we crashed. I don't remember anything about the crash, but I broke my arm, my nose, part of my back, and my forehead. I don't remember anything till I woke up in the hospital. It was kind of freaky :( My boys are all pretty much ok. I guess that's what happens when you are old! So, anyway, my card was made ahead and I can get it posted. Yippee for me I guess :) I used Teacup Fairy and she is such a cutie. She's for my best friend's birthday and I'm safe because she doesn't follow any blogs. lol I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils. She turned out pretty good. Now that the card is done I think I should have colored the teacup more, but I was taking inspiration from my teacups and they were all white backgrounds. Now that my wrist is fractured the coloring is going to take longer.

I added some fine glitter to the wings, as well as my face and my son's face. He was very sparkly ;) Because the card was such a great fold, and I used a MS PATP. I felt like it didn't need alot of embellishments. I didn't add flowers because I thought they would interfere with the folds.

You can find the instructions for this card over here. She has some beautiful examples that will inspire you! My DP is from K & Co. It is Susan Winget, Botanical. It has beautiful paper and the great thing is I'm using up and that means I'll be able to buy more without feeling bad about adding to my stash. :) WAHOO!! I used some cream colored seam binding from Wild Orchid. I love this stuff. It is so pretty and has such a wonderful feel.

I used a stamp from Inkadinkadoo to fill in the edges of the stamped image panel. Otherwise it looked too blank.

Here is a picture of the inside and the writing panel. The website, I'm sorry, I can't remember her name, gives you all the measurements for the triangles to fill in the empty spaces. My brain isn't working so good, it got hit pretty hard the other day. If you go to her blog she has all the instructions.

My Eight-Hour Card.....No, Really!

Hello there and thanks for stopping by! I have a great post for you today! First, I have a great card (and it truly did take me 8 hours to make this card. I don't know why, but it did. I had fun so that's all that matters right?) using an image from Krista Smith of Saturated Canary. But I also have a great prop in my pictures that I made following this tutorial by Karin over at Creative Chaos. I just discovered her blog and she is talented, funny, creative and AMAZING! I have spent as much time on her blog as I have on Pinterest lately (and that's saying alot!). Go check out her blog. She has made me laugh many times. Makes me wish I lived in the southwest so I had a better chance of meeting her! OK, enough of me, check this out:

Karin makes the most amazing Crepe Paper Trees. (This is my tree, not Karin's. Her's have more embellishments and are soooo pretty!) I've made one and can't wait to get more crepe paper, pink, turquoise and whatever else strikes my fancy! Thankfully the crepe paper perfectly matched my cardstock for today! I was trying to figure out how to work my tree into my post and it worked itself out!

So, my image is A Winter Ragamuffin. I've used her before, I know, but she is so cute and I couldn't resist. And I am so impressed that my husband and oldest son (Oren) both recognized that I had used her recently! They earned some serious brownie points let me tell you!! lol I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils. I added plenty of glitter to the snowman and snow. I used glue and German Glass Glitter from Wild Orchid on the edges. The metal filigree is from my local craft store.

The DP is MME (Deena's Penny Lane). Now that the card is done it looks kind of like a circus! It's so bright and fun! The pink fabric on the left is a piece of needlework linen. I used to do a lot of stitching and I could never throw away the small strips that I would cut off the piece when I was making an ornament. After all, you pay for that stuff by the square inch! So, I have a whole box of scraps. I got the idea from Iulia at My Adored Adorables. She has such beautiful cards! She made this great box and put some brown fabric behind the image. To me it looks like a piece of large count evenweave fabric. I tucked that thought away and decided to use it on this card. The beads are all in my daughter's stash which now abides permanently in my sewing room.) It really should be called my studio but old habits are hard to break!

The beautiful flowers are all from Wild Orchid. I added Stickles to bling them up a bit. The large blue rose is so beautiful! So glad I ordered them this time!

Here's the inside. I used a small snowflake punch and added small pearls to the centers. I isolated the snowman from the image and printed him on the writing panel. He got a glitter treatment also. :)

Hello friends! Thanks for stopping by today! Its very humbling to know you would take the time to stop by and see what I have been up to. Yesterday I made this card for Mo's http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/ (is anyone else having trouble with blogger today?!? ggrr the frustration!) Anyway, I chose to use this great image Maisie Caroling http://www.mosdigitalpencil.com/maisie-caroling/ (blogger is adding links this way today. idk why, but it's still frustrating me!!) She is so sweet and I can't wait to use her again.

I colored Maisie with my Prismacolors. She is sort of a Victorian raggamuffin so I didn't add any glitter or bling.

I followed the sketch from Sketch & Stash. The paper has been around for over a year and the ribbon for way longer than I care to admit. The flowers are beautiful new (well, new to me) flowers from Wild Orchid (honestly, ladies, google it if you don't have them bookmarked, those stupid url's look awful in my post!! lol)

The DP on the front and on the inside is from K & Co. A great pad called Classic K McKenna.I made the sentiment on the computer. I stitched all my panels. They look naked without the stitching :) lol

The big day is drawing near. How relaxing to sit and make a fun card today! I used another great image from Krista Smith at Saturated Canary called Winter Ragamuffin. I think she is so cute, but then, I've decided all of Krista's images are really cute! I'm so glad I found her!

I colored this cutie with my Prismacolors and added some glitter and Stickles to bling things up a bit! :) lol

The DP is from my stash and I don't know where it came from. I only less than 1 sheet left. The flowers are from Wild Orchid. I just recently got in a new order and I had fun using lots of different flowers! I added glue and glitter to the large blue rose. These flowers are beautiful! I think they are the best out there! The feathers and beads are from my stash.

I used 2 embossing folders on the left panel, Swiss Dots and Snowflakes from Cuttlebug. I made the sentiments on my computer.

I embellished the right panel with a die cut from Memory Box. Its called Winterland Tree. I know I've said this before, but I love these dies.

The back is embellished with another Memory Box die. Its called Snowflake Corner.

Sweet Cocoa Boys

Hello again! Today I have a card that I made for my son. I don't make as many "boy" cards, so this one was alot of fun to make. I used an image from Saturated Canary called Hot Cocoa. He is so cute :)

I colored him with my Prismacolor pencils. I refrained from using stickles or any other glitter this time around. I really don't think my boy is a glitter kind of guy :) lol

The card has a very clean and simple look. Well, clean and simple for me. No flowers. No ribbon. No sewing. No inking the edges. And I love it. I did add a few beads from my stash. I think they work well. The papers have been in my stash for a few years I think. I don't know who they are by. I actually found them at Walmart, of all places, on the clearance rack. I think they look great! The 2 snowflakes are from The Paper Studio.

I used alot of paper inside as well. The right side has the writing panel. I used the same sketch for this side as well.

Peace on Earth

Isn't that a great wish? Peace on earth? I've been listening to a great song by Casting Crowns for the last couple of weeks. Listen to I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day! It touches my heart in a way I can't explain. (Casting Crowns does an amazing job with a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Great song! Anyway, that is what inspired this card. Mo's has this great image Ragged Angel. She is so sweet.

I colored this beauty with my Prismacolor pencils. I'm pleased with her skin again and the colors. I've used some colors I haven't used before and I like the vintage feel of them.

The papers are from MME. I love their papers. This collection is called Lost and Found. I found mine at Hobby Lobby. I used mine up, I'll be going back for more very soon, like this week!! The back right panel is embossed with my Cuttlebug embossing folder "Snowflake". I distressed all the edges by running them over my brown ink pad. I added some twine, it has a rustic feel that I thought went well with this image and the papers. The flowers are from Wild Orchid. I just received a new order and I can't wait to play with them more.

I printed the words from the original poem and made a tag. I think its a great size to be used as a bookmark.

Here's the inside.

The top panel shows off the gorgeous design papers. I printed all the sentiments from my computer. I don't know what color I ended up using, but its somewhere between a brown and grey. A little softer than black. It goes with the image, the song and the feel I was going for.

Here's the writing panel. I had to show off the companion for the design paper.

Joyful Christmas Wishes

Hello, friends! Thanks for stopping by today. I have another Christmas card to show you today ('tis the season!). I used a great image from Whimsy and Stars Studio. They are called Winter Friends. There's a sale on digis over there right now so hop on over and grab some of these great images! :)

I colored this pair of cuties with my Prismacolor pencils and embellished all her "fur" (and the pinecone) with MS tinsel glitter :) Great stuff!!

The challenge this time at Wild Orchid is to make an easel card. They are so much fun (and fewer panels for me to decorate, though it still took just as long somehow. I don't know why exactly). I followed the sketch over at Sketch & Stash and used some ribbon that I've had for ages. The MS border punch has been sadly neglected for a few months as well. The beads came from my daughter's stash so I am helping her out too ;) lol I embossed the brown panel with my Cuttlebug "snowflake" folder. It sure is getting alot of work this year. The challenge at Cupcake Craft Challenges is to make your own background paper. So i embossed the brown then used a foam brush and a white ink pad to lightly brush some color across the snowflakes. The corner embellishments are from Memory Box. I got mine from Simon Says Stamp. You can get yours here.

The bottom inside panel roughly follows the same sketch only simplified and turned 90 degrees. I made the sentiments on my computer.

Baby's 1st Christmas

Hello and thanks for stopping by today! I have a cutie-patootie card to show you today! Of course its going to be cute since I use an image from Mo's Digital Pencil. This cute little one is called Kai in the Snow. He is so happy to be playing in the snow!

I colored Kai with my Prismacolor pencils and I added sooooooo much glitter and sparkles! hehe I used glitter on his pom-poms and the snow. There's Stickles around most of the panels and on the snowflakes.

The DP is from my stash and I don't know where its from. The red panel is embossed with my Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder. I love that folder....so cute. The 2 snowflakes are from The Paper Studio and I got them from Hobby Lobby.

The left inside panel is plain but I followed the same sketch (simplified) for the right side and used white for a writing panel.

The back has my custom stamp as always :)

Sending Loving Wishes

Hello again! I'm so glad you have taken the time to stop by my blog today. I hope you enjoy the cutie I have for you this time. The challenge at Saturated Canary is Anything. I needed to make a special card and this seemed like the perfect time. The granddaughter of a co-worker of my daughter's boyfriend (can ya follow that?? lol) has cancer. She is only 13. I've never met her but when I heard her story I knew I wanted to send her a card. I've been thinking about what to do for a while. You probably know how it is. Your creative fairy has to get everything worked out before you can start the project. Sometimes I have to let her work it over for a while. I know if I start without her the project will be a flop. Finally she had all the details worked out and the card came together with ease :)

This cutie is called Let It Rain. If you haven't checked out Krista Smith's sweet illustrations you need to!! She has some new images in her shop and I know I need a couple ;) I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils and have to say that this is the first time that I am really happy with her skin color. I've been really working on the colors and the technique and maybe I have made a breakthrough! WAHOO!!

The challenge at Creative Inspirations is Turquoise, Purple and White. I struggled a little with that because I wasn't quite sure what turquoise was :) lol But I pulled out my Stampin Up Tempting Turquoise stamp pad and found some cardstock to match. Phew! The DP is from my stash and had no identification on it. All I know is its pretty old! Sorry! I found a great new challenge blog this week (not sure how I stumbled upon it, but I'm so glad I did!) called Sketch N Stash. I followed their great sketch (although my circle is a little over-sized) and dug some great stuff out of my stash. What did I find? The DP. The lace. The ribbons. The beads. The feathers. And the flowers. (If its been around for over a year its considered "stash", right?) The only thing completely new is the image. The rhinestones are fairly new as well. Everything else is well aged. lol

I decided to use the same sketch (or most of it) for the inside top panel. I added the rest of my sentiment there.

The writing panel is pretty simple with just a small background stamp and some stitching.

The back is a little more dressed up this time around :)

My Green Angel

Hello and thanks for stopping by again. Today I have a card with an adorable angel from Sugar Nellie called Heavenly Angel.

I think she has the sweetest face. She was so much fun to color with my Prismacolor pencils.

I added lots of sparkles to this card :) I used a very fine glitter on her wings, a MS chunky glitter on the cloud, silver Stickles on the stars and green stickles around the edge of the image. It really is very sparkly!

The DP is from Basic Grey. The white panel is embossed with my Snowflake folder from Cuttlebug. It is getting alot of use since I bought it!

I used my Frosty Border die to embellish the the front. The ribbon and pearls are from my stash.

The top panel inside is embellished with my Winterland Tree die (both dies are from Memory Box).

The writing panel is embellished with an old, old, old snowflake stamp which I embossed with silver embossing powder.

The back is simple again. I should work on dressing them up a bit more.

A Sepia Christmas

Well.... sort of. This was my first attempt at coloring an image using only one color in many shades. I really wanted to enter the LOTV challenge this week which was "Anything" but I have a limited number of their stamps. I figured if I was going to re-use a stamp I better make my card look very different from the last one. I started thinking I would color it like I have seen several other cards colored lately... all in browns and absolutely gorgeous!! Then the Shabby Tea Room challenge fit perfectly with this idea so I went for it.

I used my Prismacolor pencils (on Kraft paper) to color this adorable image from Lili of the Valley called Woodland Christmas. Its one of my favorites :) I added silver Stickles to the lights on the tree. I love Stickles :)

I didn't use any DP this time. I used Coordinations CS and used embossing folders to add interest. The lighter panel on the left is the Swiss Dot folder from Sizzix and the dark panel on the right is Snowflake from Cuttlebug. I added some pearls to some of the snowflakes. The flowers are from Wild Orchid. The ribbon is from my stash and since I know it is at least 15 years old, it certainly is vintage!

The inside panels are pretty simple with the addition of a Christmas tree die cut from Memory Box. I bought mine at Simon Says Stamp. These dies are wonderful! I added a "shim" of cardstock under this one and it cut beautifully! Can't wait to order more!

The back is simple also, but I do love this color combination!

Sweet Christmas Wishes

Hello again! Thanks for stopping by today! Today I have another card using a fabulous image from Mo's Digital Pencil called Christmas Fairy Mint. This is not Mo's new site, but rather the old one. This cutie doesn't appear to be on the new site yet. You can still order off the old one though :) And I'm glad for that because the old site has some great images!

I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils and added Stickles to her wings and the edges of the paper. I also added glossy accents to the candy canes.

The DP is from a K&Co stack called Secret Santa. The dark green mat is embossed with my Cuttlebug embossing folder called Snowflake. The pink rose and pins are from Wild Orchid. The other flower and white "berries" are from Hobby Lobby (the floral department). I added Stickles to the pink rose as well. You can only see a tiny bit of the great die cut I used but the next picture shows how gorgeous it is!

I used a great die from Memory Box. I ordered mine from Simon Says Stamp and you can find it here. I also used the Corner Snowflake die and embellished the writing panel with it. It looks like they are on sale right now so hurry over and snatch one because they seem to go quick! I have to tell you these dies cut like a dream! And the paper pops right out after you cut. No sitting there with a pin to poke them out. They were great!!

The back panel shows off the great DP. It is very fun and festive!

Hello again, and thanks for stopping by. Today I have a card with a sweet image from Crafts and Me called Dear Diary. I chose this image because of the challenge over at Fairy Tale Challenge Blog. The challenge this time is a photo inspiration and as soon as I saw the photo I knew I wanted to use this image.

I colored this cutie with my Prismacolor pencils. Her skin is a little orange :( I certainly need more practice, but I do like how the toadstools turned out. The beautiful flowers are from Wild Orchid, of course, and the charm is from Hobby Lobby I think.

The great DP are from MME. The pad is called Deena's Penny Lane. These are the first sheets I've used from this pad and I can't wait to use more. They are gorgeous and fun! So much glitter on them! The sentiment is from an old SU set. It's my go-to set for cards. So classic.

I made the front and inside left panel to follow the sketch from Graphicat Sketch Challenge. It is a great sketch with all the layers so I thought I would repeat part of it on the inside. The writing panel is embellished with my new favorite stamps from Inkadinkadoo (Flourishes). Love this set!!

The back has one more layer than normal and I added stitching.... nothing wrong with looking great coming and going ;)

The Song in Your Heart

"A friend is someone who knows the song of your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words." Do you have a friend like that? I know I do. I don't get to see her as often as I would like, but she knows me inside and out and she always says exactly what I need to hear. This sweet gypsy from The Saturated Canary is so beautiful, and I'm sure she's dancing to an amazing song.

I colored her on kraft cardstock with my Prismacolor pencils. I used my new stamps from Inkadinkado "Flourishes" to stamp the edges of most of the papers including the image and the sentiment (both of which I printed from my computer).The edge of the image got some bronze glitter glue.

This is the quote I used. I love it. I added teal pearls to the rounded corners (which are a little off). I stitched all the layers too.

I decided to make this an easel card since I haven't made one in a long time. I added only one flower from Prima.

I think I might send this card to my friend. Just to let her know how much I appreciate her.

Eskimo Kisses

Warm Winter Wishes... these two don't seem to mind the cold! Siku and Shiya from Mo's Digital Pencil don't seem to mind the cold at all! They look very happy!

I colored this adorable couple with my Prismacolor pencils. I added tinsel glitter from MS to all their "fur".

I bought the great paper at AC Moore. I didn't write down the name and after searching through the garbage in my studio I came up empty. So sorry. It is gorgeous though isn't it? I added the swirls to the corners with a great stamp from Inkadinkado. The set is called Artistic Flourish. All the stamping done on the card is from this set. I added some light blue glitter glue ($1 stuff from Joanns) to the edge of the image panel. The pearls and rhinestones are also from AC Moore throughout the project... oh! There's more! Wait til you see!

Are you ready? I'm in love with this project and I hope you like it too!

I had so much fun making this project until the wee hours of the morning last night...er, this morning! lol My inspiration came from our little friends on the front cover giving each other what I was always told is an "eskimo kiss". So, me being me, I started thinking about kisses and of course that means chocolate kisses, and one thing led to another and by 3am I had this box. TA-DA! I free-hand drew the "kiss" shape to cut out the window in the box. I covered it with acetate so you can see the yummy goodness inside. :)

On this side I have a tag I embossed with my Snowflake Cuttlebug folder. I love how deeply it embosses.

This side is a rather large box (6x7x2.5 deep) to hold lots of chocolate! I used the blue glitter glue around the edges of the cutout.

I added more of the gorgeous designer paper to the sides of the box. This shot also shows how beautiful the flourish stamps are.

Get Well Soon Little Guy

Welcome! Thanks for stopping by today! I have 2 fun projects and I hope you enjoy looking at them. I loved creating them and am waiting for the right time to give them away! I used a great image from Mo's Digital Pencil called Needs Mummy.

Isn't he the cutest thing? I just want to pick him up and hug him. He looks like he needs a good snuggle! I colored him with my prismacolors. He didn't get much embellishment, but I don't think he needed much. I did emboss the tiny piece of white with a Cuttlebug folder called "Spots and Dots".

The first project I did was this tissue box cover. I thought he was perfect for this! Did you see his left hand? Well, actually, you can't see his hand. All you can see is a tissue sticking out of his sleeve. This little guy is really sick! I didn't have a template for the cover. I just measured the box and cut my paper. I used my oval Nesties to cut the hole in the top. I used a MS punch for the band around the box.

Here's a view of the top. I used a small star stamp from a $1 set from Joann's to stamp around the opening. I also used it on the corners of the image, but since I stamped it blue on blue you can't really see it. I like how it turned out though.

The next project is a Get-Well card to match. The front is exacly the same as the box.

I used a big piece of the design paper (it was open stock DCWV from Joanns I think) for the top panel. It's all about boys and I think it's so cute. The writing panel is edged with the same MS PATP from the box cover.

All I Want For Christmas

Good Morning! I'm so glad you are here today. The card I have today is a Christmas card, but in non-traditional Christmas colors. For some reason when I saw the sketch at Sugar Nellie this week these are the papers that popped into my head. I have learned that I just need to go with my muse when she tells me to do something. (My children think its odd that I have a creative fairy helping me out. But I figure I need someone to blame when the imspiration leaves!) Anyway.... I like how this card turned out and I hope you do too.

Isn't this an adorable couple? I love this image. It comes from Funky Kits and is called Warm Winter Wishes. Unfortunately, I could not find it over there. Maybe it is out of stock. idk I stamped them with a grey ink pad this time to give it a softer feel. I colored with my prismacolors. Their bellies are little too yellow for my taste, but ya live and learn :)

The gorgeous flowers are from Wild Orchid. I added a Christmas tree charm from my LCS. She has a great selection. I had forgotten that. I will be going back thats for sure!! I added some tinsel glitter from MS to his hat and the flowers. I was hoping it would look like snow or frost on the roses. In my neck of the woods it isn't the time of year for roses to be blooming, but my son has a rose bush that won't stop. He gave me 2 more pink roses this week! So maybe the idea of pink roses on a Christmas card isn't so far-fetched!

My papers are from a K&Co pad called Spring Blossom by Susan Winget. Don't you just love her stuff? I know I do. She is amazing! The text paper, however, I made myself. I found the words for the Christmas carol "All I Want For Christmas Is You" by Mariah Carey and printed them in grey ink on my printer. nYou can listen to this great song here. I think these little guys are singing this song to each other. :)

The inside is pretty simple with just a small sunflake from a MS punch. I added the text again :)

The back is a little simpler than my last few cards.

A Sparkly Christmas

Good Morning and thanks for stopping by my blog today. Today I have a very sparkly Christmas card to share with you. I used the adorable image Woodland Christmas from Lily of the Valley. I've mentioned before that I have a bunny and I am always drawn to images of bunnies.

You can see that I have added ALOT of glitter to my card. It is soooo sparkly. :) I love it! One of my boys suggested I put some stars in my night sky, so I used some silver Stickles to add tiny stars. I think it was a good idea. I also added glitter to the lights on the tree. I added some glossy accents to the ornaments, too.

I colored my image with Prismacolor pencils. The small snowflake punch is from Martha Stewart. The gorgeous papers are from K & Co. (Secret Santa). I think they made this card so fun. The blue circle was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder called Snowflake.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid, of course. The beads are from my stash. I added more Stickles to the flowers :) hehehe

Prayer Box

Welcome to my blog today! I don't have a card for you, instead I have a Prayer Box I was asked to make for a friend. It was fun to put together, I hope you like it.

First, let me apologize for the terrible lighting in my pictures. One of these days I will get this figured out. I bought a paper mache box at Hobby Lobby. I painted it dark chocolate brown. Then I added a layer of Crackle medium. Then painted it buttermilk on top. I really like the way it cracked. The lace is from my stash, but the cute blue ribbon is from My Mind's Eye.

The ribbon is from my stash, but all the flowers are from Wild Orchid. I added some clear Stickles to bling them up a bit. I used my computer to print the verses. The pearls on the line are from the bridal department. They are so pretty.

Here are some of the cards I made for the inside. I used an old floral stamp for the background. I love my Nestabilities Labels 4 dies. They are so beautiful.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a different card than what I usually do. I used an image from a digital collage sheet that I bought from Gallery Cat on etsy. You can get it here. It is a beautiful image, the whole sheet is actually, and the quality is outstanding! She has some other great sheets and I know I will be going back for more!

Isn't he great? The colors are wonderful, although I have to admit I feel like I was cheating because I didn't color an image, but my work could never compete with this, so I am happy with this card! :)

The DP is from MME. The stack is called Oh Christmas Tree. I embossed the green paper with a Sizzix folder called Evergreen. The flowers are, of course, from Wild Orchid, as is the pin I embellished with beads from my stash. The ribbon, lace, thread, feathers and glittery ball.... things are also from my stash. I added red and clear Stickles to my flowers and gold Stickles to the edge of my tag.

On the inside I used some stamps from Inkadinkado (Christmas Silhouettes) to enhance the corners. The sentiment is from the same set. I added a gold brad to the holly leaves. I used red stickles and green pearls on the sentiment panel.

Merry Christmas Elf

Good morning and thanks for stopping by. Today I have a card with an adorable image from Mo's Digital Pencil. He's called Sticky and you can find him here. The challenge at Mo's Challenge Blog is "Any Holiday or Celebration". I chose Christmas so I could use this cutie :)

I used my Prismacolor pencils to color him. I love these pencils, I just need more practice.... I added MS tinsel glitter to his hat and pom-poms, gold Stickles to his jingle bell, clear Stickles around the image and Glossy Affects to the candy cane.

I added some pearls to the edge of the image. My little bouquet embellishment includes some vintage seem binding (it was in my stash and the cardboard it was wrapped around was yellowed.... vintage!), a pin I decorated with beads from my (daughter's) stash, a brown cherry blossom from Wild Orchid, 3 small jingle bells from my stash and some great off white sparkly, fuzzy, berry things I bought at Hobby Lobby.

Here's the whole card. The paper is from a great stack by MME called Oh Christmas Tree. The papers are so pretty and a little vintage-y. I embossed the green panel with a Sizzix embossing folder called "Evergreen". That's my take on the challenge at Tip Top Tuesday where they want you to make your own background paper. Maybe it's a little far fetched, I don't know, but I was drawing a blank. I added more gold Stickles around the sentiment panel that I stamped with a great stamp from Inkadinkado in the Christmas Silhouettes Collection. The pearls and vintage lace are from my stash.

The inside is pretty simple. I used another stamp from the same collection to embellish the writing panel.

And here's the back. I added a piece of ribbon behind my custom stamp.

Merry Christmas Angel

Today I have a card with the cutest angel from Sugar Nellie. You can get "Hello Little Friend" here. She was so much fun to color. I think the sweet bunny is my favorite. I have a Netherland Dwarf bunny named Precious, so I am always partial to sweet little bunnies.

The challenge at The Sugar Bowl is a sketch and Clean & Simple. CAS is always a little hard for me. I like to embellish :) But I kept the embellishments to a minimum. The paper is a glittery green from Coordinations as well as from a Christmas stack from K & Co. called Secret Santa. The ribbon is from my stash (still working on using up scraps) and the flowers are from Wild Orchid. The sentiment is from one of the $1 sets at Joanns.

I colored this cutie with my Prismacolors. I decided I need to check out Youtube again to see how other women color skin and make it look amazing! Hopefully I will get better. I added lots of glitter to her wings and wand.... I added alot of glitter to my floor.... my son... I got a little carried away!!

You can see the patterned paper on the inside. The stamps in here are old ones from Stampin' Up. I added Stickles to the circle on the top panel as well as the main image on the front.

And the back. Another scrap of ribbon, just to dress it up a little.

Pumpkin Boy

I have a very fun card to show today. The challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil this week is to use your favorite image with a sentiment (mine is on the inside - truly it is! My computer won't upload my image of the inside of my card). This was a tough challenge for me because at least half of her images are my "favorite". But, considering the season, I decided to use this cute little guy, called Punkin.

I used papers from a K&Co. pad by Susan Winget called Nature. The green panel is embossed with a great Spellbinders Impressabilities embossing sheet called Flowers. The flower is from Wild Orchid and the other supplies are from my stash.

I added a box for a candy bar to the bottom of my card. I saw the idea on a blog, but couldn't find a tutorial so I made up my own. It turned out pretty good and it even fits inside the clear envelopes I use to mail my cards! I will certainly be making more of these!

I am challenging myself to use up my scraps of lace and ribbon that have been around for years. This piece of last was just the right size... I guess it was waiting for this card! The ribbons have been hanging around a while too. When my stash gets down a bit more I plan to buy some great ribbons from some of the new companies I have found on-line. Guess I better get busy using this stuff!

I colored Punkin with my new Prismacolor pencils. I think he turned out pretty good. I'm still working on getting skin right, though. I edged the panel with gold Stickles. Gotta love that stuff!

It's My Party and I'll Cry If I Want To

Do you know/remember that song? Its such a fun song! Its not from my era, but I love it! I'm adding a link here so you can listen to the original version by Lesley Gore. My kids were not familiar with the song... I guess they don't listen to me sing! lol

Anyway.... that's the song that popped into my head when I saw this great image from Mo's Digital Pencil. The challenge over there this week is: Inspired by Song and this is what I came up with:

Isn't she a cutie? I suppose I wouldn't feel that way if she were my little girl throwing a fit like that, but she's so cute to look at :) She is called two Tasha and her caption is: Tasha is two. Very true. lol

This is my first card using my new Prismacolor pencils. I bought the 132 ct set from Dick Blick. The price was amazing and it was shipped very quickly. I was very pleased. I know I need a ton of practice with my new pencils, but I am excited about the results on this card.

I had this little stamp "the Little Princess" from a dollar set at Joanns. I've never used it, but I thought it was appropriate for this card :) She's anything but a princess right now, huh?

I added lots of sparkle to her tutu and tiara with Stickles. The design paper is from the Lost and Found Collection by My Mind's Eye. Great papers... lots of glitter all over the studio now :)

Back to School Survival Kit

Hello all! I was trying to think of something to make for Back-to-School besides a card. Finally I remembered this great idea someone gave me a couple years ago. So, I pulled it out and figured out the pattern. I don't know who made the original since it isn't signed, but its a great idea!

I used an image from Mo's Digital Pencil called Harvard. Isn't he the cutest thing? He reminds me of my son, Benjamin. The papers are scraps from my stash. He is colored with acrylics as always. I'm not pleased with his face, I need more practice.

Here's the back. I did all the wording on the computer and cut them with my Nesties.

Now for the fun part! Pull the ribbon and:

Isn't that great? When the stress of school is too much, here is an emergency supply of chocolate! lol (Since I'm the teacher shouldn't I get one of these, too?) I hope my boys love these. They know they should hide the chocolate from their mother!! lol

I have a great card to show you today. I love this cutie little guy from Mo's Digital Pencil. He's called I Even Love the Box. I smile every time I look at him. He's so happy playing in the box. How many times do our children do that? I know mine always loved the boxes. lol

I had a great time painting him with my acrylics. His bow is covered with Glossy Accents. The red circle behind him is embossed with a Sizzix folder called Evergreen.

The great paper is all from My Minds Eye. The pad is called O Christmas Tree. I added stitching to all the layers. Being a quilter and seamstress I feel like its my signature on my cards.

I followed the same sketch for the front on the back of my card.

Just a Note

I made this card for a friend who recently blessed me with a new cell phone. (Yes, Hannah, that's you.) And for some reason (a momentary lapse of brain power?) I took a picture and sent it to her! Well, in my defense I usually send her a picture of all my projects. So, this one's for you, girlie!

I dug through my stash for many of the elements in this card. It's great when I can do that. I love using up bits and pieces of stuff that have been around for a long time.

I used an adorable image from Mo's called Trinity . Isn't she the cutest thing? As always I painted her with my acrylic paints. I used paper from 2 different DCWV stacks. One is Nana's Nursery (boy), the other is Nana's Kitchen. The blue paper on the front is actually a page from my dictionary that I photocopied. I used the page with the definition for "school". The buttons and beads are from my stash. The bow (I know its hard to see) is made from a thin strip of green bridal netting. It has a shimmer to it and looks great in person.

The inside cover has more of my "text" paper. I like this idea. I may use it again in the future :)

This is the other side of the inside. It is a box I made. It's about 1 1/2" deep. The spine (in orange) is about 1 3/4" wide to accommodate my embellishments. I used my Nesties to cut the circles. The box is yellow. I cut a piece of patterned paper for the top and the inside of the top. The circle is filled with a piece of acetate.

Here's the back (or maybe I should say bottom). The border punch is from Martha Stewart... I love those things. I used my custom stamp which I loooooove!! And, more of the text paper.

Several layers on all 4 sides have different colored Stickles. I love that stuff too.

Today's card was made for a friend's daughter who's getting married in a few weeks. *gasp* I am ahead of schedule again!! As exciting as that is, I don't expect it to last very long. School starts soon and I will almost certainly be running around last minute in no time. But for now I will enjoy the feeling of being ahead of schedule!

My pictures aren't so great. Sorry for the poor lighting. While the card is ahead of time, I was rushing to get this posted for this week's challenge over at The Paper Shelter, which is where this adorable image comes from. The challenge this week is to use 3 designer papers, 2 images and 1 embellishment. While it would have been fun to embellish more, I tried to stick to the rules and only added the 3 pearls at the bottom, which follows the sketch from The Sweetest Thing. I used papers from a K & Company pad called Classic K McKenna. Love the vintage look of the papers in this collection. The sentiment is from one of the papers in the pad.

For the inside writing panel I used a MS corner punch. The sentiment on the top is from Stamping Up. I don't know if it is still available.

Happy Birthday Christa!

I made this card for my niece's birthday several months ago. As I said in my last post, this blog was sadly neglected over the summer. My niece has been waiting very patiently for me to post her card. So, Chris, here it is.... finally!

I do not remember where I got the image. I would like to give proper credit, but unfortunately I can't. The papers are from The Paper Studio. I used acrylics to paint the image. You can't tell but there is a pink crystal in the center of the flower in her hair. The ribbon is from my stash, as is the maribou feather. The beautiful rose is from Wild Orchid.

I used a couple of stamps on the inside but I don't remember where they are from. I used a Martha Stewart PATP for both panels on the inside.

Of course, my custom stamp is on the back. Soon I hope to decorate the back of my cards as nicely as Lena Katrine. I love her blog. Her work is beautiful!

Get Along Little Doggie

I know my blog has been sadly neglected the last 4 months. I finally cleaned my studio and feel the creative juices flowing already! Today I made a card for my son's upcoming birthday. I am in shock, to say the least, that I have a card made more than a week in advance! So, on to the card....

I made this card to fulfill a whole list of challenges. I used a great stamp from Whimsey Stamps called Get Along Little Doggie. As always I painted him with acrylics. My papers are Coordinations from Joanns. I used a Cuttlebug folder called Spots and Dots to emboss the navy paper. I added red Stickles to the band on his hat, and light blue Stickles around the edge of the image. For the banner I simply used a font on my computer to print the letters and cut the triangles free-hand. A piece of twine from my stash anchored to 2 matte silver brads forms the banner.

I made the banner on the inside the same way. I stamped the edges of the red paper with a paisly border stamp from Fiskars. The set is called Just Between Friends. The paisley on the writing panel is from the same set. I used a Martha Stewart corner punch for the corners of the blue panel.

On the back I used my custom stamp and the same paisley from the inside.

Daisy Box

I'm back with another note card box. This time I used papers from a K&Co pad called Spring Blossom.

I used alot of Stickles :) I used yellow on the daisy centers and the bee's stripes. I edged the left paper with green and the right paper with diamond. The flower is a daisy from Wild Orchid. I used a thinned acrylic paint to darken it. Then I used yellow and green Stickles in the middle. The stick pin is embellished with beads from my stash. It's hard to see, but I wrapped a thin piece of green tulle around the layers and cinched it under the flower.

I added lace and buttons from my stash to the sides.

This is the bottom of the box. I edged the large layer with diamond Stickles again. The solid cardstock is Coredinations throughout.

These little girls are so adorable! I could not wait to make a card when I saw them!

This sweet image is from Whimsy and Stars Studio. Its called Rain or Shine Friends. Aren't they the cutest things? I have used a piece of striped paper from my stash. I know I bought it at Joanns a while back. I loved the soft girlie colors. I embossed the tan paper with my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. The lace is from my stash. The flowers are from Wild Orchid.

I always paint my images with acrylics. I used Diamond Stickles on the edges of the image.

Dragonfly Box

I posted a box earlier today using this same pattern. This one is completely different and I love how it turned out. First, the dragonfly paper is from a DCWV stack by Susan Winget, called Nature. I cut it to size and tore the edges. Then I used antiquing gel to distress the edges. The paper underneath is from the same pad. I edged it with gold Stickles. I strung some Mill Hill beads on #12 pearl cotton and added a butterfly bead. The flowers are from Wold Orchid except for the tall purple....thing. That came from the floral department at Hobby Lobby.

This picture shows the lace I added to the sides. Also, you can see that I used the antiquing gel again on all the edges of the sleeve and drawer.

I embellished the drawer with a bow (from my stash), some stick pins with beads from my daughter's stash and a Wild Orchid rose. The bottom is also embellished, but for some reason the computer would not upload that photo. I used the other corner of the dragonfly paper that has an orchid-like flower. I added a bead to each corner to act as feet and, of course, my custom stamp that I edged with gold stickles this time.

Mother's Day Note Box

I was trying to think of something to make for Mother's Day that would be beautiful and practical. I came up with my own design for this note box.

The sleeve and drawer only use 2 sheets of cardstock. I sized it for the note cards I made. For those I used an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of light-weight cardstock. I cut it in half and folded them like you would fold a piece of paper to put in an envelope. I based the measurements for the drawer on that size. I can fit at least 12 note cards in the drawer. My mom and MIM both send out notes and cards frequently so this is a great gift for them.

I used a small piece of designer paper from my K&Co pad by Susan Winget called Spring Blossom. Loooove the papers in this pad. The cardstock is Coredination. I printed "Just A Note" on my computer and cut it with my Spellbinders Labels Four die. The lace and ribbon are from my stash as are the pearl beads I hot glued to the lace and along the sides. The beautiful flowers are all from Wild Orchid. The key charm is from Hobby Lobby and the fluffy feathers are from my stash. The side is embellished with a paper cut with a MS border punch.

Here you can see the drawer pulled out. The note cards aren't in it yet.

And here is the bottom. I embellished it with a scrap of old pattern paper, my custom stamp and some beads to act like feet.

I would like to enter this box in the challenge at The Shabby Tea Room where the challenge is to use doilies and/or lace.

I absolutely love the images from Mo's Digital Pencil. This little fairy (baby fairy Ayana) is just so cute I wanna kiss her!

The patterned paper is from a great stack called Linen Closet from DCWV. I embossed the peach Coredinations paper with an embossing folder from Sizzix called Snow Flowers. The pearl swirl is from Prima and of course the flowers are from Wild Orchid.

I added diamond Stickles to her wings and edged the oval with gold Stickles.

While I love this image from Motivet, I was a little uninspired when I started painting. However, once I got going I fell in love with everything about the card!!

The patterned paper is an old piece from my stash so I don't know where its from. The solid papers are all Coredinations paper. The image is from Motivet and he's called Birthday Morris. I love how his cheeks are puffing out...he's trying so hard to blow out those candles!! lol I (sort of) used the sketch from Mojo Monday...it's flipped around and rearranged, but I like how it turned out :) The ribbon and pearle cotton are from my stash...the beads from my daughter's stash. :) Thanks again, girlie! ;) I used a MS border punch on the orange paper. The flowers are Daisy Doodles from Prima (I got them at Michael's). They come in great little glass jars that look wonderful on my shelf! I used MS tinsel glitter and glitter glue on his hat. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and is called Mixed Messages. It is a great set with little sentiments. And some that different from your standard everyday sentiments. I'm so glad I bought this set! They have a few other sets I would like to get!

The inside is pretty simple. I used my Spellbinders Labels 4 to cut the oval. I really wanted to use every last bit of that scrap of candle paper....and I did!! The brads are from my stash. They came from the clearance at Joanns quite a loooooong while back! lol I used a MS PATP for both panels.

The back is very boring .... plain white.... but there is my great personalized stamp and the MS punch again.

Falling In Love

I had to make an anniversary card for a special couple. I wanted it to be very elegant and I hope I achieved that with this card.

I didn't add an image this time. I found this great quote and wanted it to be the highlight. I only used one patterned paper from my K&Co pad called Botanicals. The rest of the paper is Coredinations. I used a Sizzix embossing plate (Snow Flowers) to emboss the blue paper.

I added plenty of flowers from Wild Orchid, lots of beads and pearls. The ribbon is from my stash. (and the beads are from my daughter's stash again... hehehe) I used a MS border punch on the green paper. I also added plenty of stickles to the flowers.

I kept the inside fairly simple. I used my Spellbinders Fleur de Lis die for the top panel along with Labels 4. On the bottom panel I used a MS PATP for the writing panel.

Here's the back with my custom stamp.

For My Dear Friend

This lovely little image from Lily of the Valley reminds me so much of my best friend and I. We didn't know each other as little girls, but I imagine if we did we would have sat on a little brick wall after picking the first of the spring flowers together. She and I both love our flower gardens and I'm sure that same tie that binds us now would have back then.

I used the sketch from Mojo Monday. Don't you love sketches? For me, it makes a card so easy. Thanks to all you lovely women who come up with sketches for the uninspired, like me, to follow. It makes things so much easier!! Anyway, I used great papers from K & Company (don't you love their stuff) called Classic K McKenna. LOOOOOOVE this pad!! :) The patterned papers are layered on a medium shade of chocolate brown (like milk chocolate...lol) but it doesn't look like it in the picture. Still trying to get this whole picture-taking, getting-the-lighting-right thing down. I think I need to have a chat with my photographer BIL. I'm sure he'll have an answer for me....at least I hope so.

The ribbon and lace are from my stash. The lace is actually vintage I believe :) I used an antiquing gel (for wood) to shade the edges of my paper. I wanted a vintage-y sort of feel. It's the first time I've tried it, and while it isn't great I'm pleased and I will try it again. I added adhesive pearls and a stick pin I made from my daughter's stash of beads again :) Thanks girlie :)

I kept the inside simple because the papers are just so gorgeous!

Sweet Baby Box

I am so excited about this project! I spent all afternoon yesterday working on it. I made it for a special young couple who just had their first baby. I hope you enjoy looking at it!

OK, so much to say about it....where to start? I hope this all makes sense! My original inspiration was from Kirsten. Her box was so wonderful I had to make one! She has a great tutorial. I've made one using her dimensions, but I changed them for this design. I wanted to use my MS PATP, so I picked the 8" size. The rest of my dimensions were based on this size. The adorable image is from Mo's. He's called Baby boy s and I think he is adorable. She has several images like this, boy and girl, and different hair styles. I loved the wispy little hair on this guy. I used Coordinations cardstock (Joanns sells this, and it frequently goes on sale for a great price. I like it as well as Bazzil, but I never see Bazzil on sale.) and a great DCWV pad called Nana's Nursery. This was the boy pad. There's also a cute girl one I want to get. :) After I punched my 2 large blue squares I used a cotton ball and Not Quite Navy (SU) ink pad to ink the edges on both sides. I really like how that turned out. My layers are pretty simple. I used the sketch from CLP this week. I sewed all the layers (of course) The ribbons, lace and buttons are all from my stash as is the little fluff of marabou in the corner. I made my own pins in the corner. I used beads from my daughters stash :) (she "borrows" from me so, I think it's only fair!)

Here you can see how the drawers open up. I have to tweak my numbers a bit, the drawers are slightly difficult to open, but I think this one will be OK. I'll adjust that on the next one.

Here I pulled out the 4 drawers so you can see each one. I thought this box could be used to hold special things from baby. I used my Spellbinders Labels Four Nestie to cut the labels. I just used my computer to print out the words on cardstock first. I lined the bottom of each drawer with patterned paper and added pearls to the corners, and bows above the labels.

Well, I guess I was in too much of a hurry to notice I selected the picture that was sideways, and I'm not sure I can flip it around here. Anyway, this is the bottom of the box. I used brads for the feet. I added my personalized stamp too.

Well, I was hoping to enter this in Mo's challenge last week, which was "Attitude", but I ran out of time. I finished the card anyway and I like how it turned out. :)

This little girl from Mo's Digital Pencil has such an attitude! She makes me laugh just looking at her. She's someone you would get frustrated with and then laugh and give her a hug and a kiss! She's called Bossy and I think that fits her perfectly!! I used some great papers from DCWV called Nana's Kitchen. These papers are a little vintage and the colors are great! Kinda like sherbet :) lol Even though the pad is called kitchen, there are papers you can use that don't have a kitchen theme. I stitched around the one layer. I love stitching on my cards, the card looks unfinished without it. I used the sketch from Wild Orchid. It's a nice simple sketch. I thought it would go together quickly, but then I started playing with the flowers and played for a long time last night. Oh, well!

The flowers are from Wild Orchid. The little.... berry twigs (?) are from Hobby Lobby. I roamed through the floral department looking for things to add to my cards and found them. I think they are cute and different. And they were very inexpensive and on sale!! Even better! The ribbon is from my stash.

This is the inside. I matched the writing panel to the front of the card. And I used my MS PATP for the frame on the top.

Hello and welcome to my blog again. Today I have a very "spring-y" looking card. I'm hoping spring will be here soon, but it doesn't seem like it's in any hurry to get here. lol

I picked this cute image from Whimsey Stamps called Froggy's Pad. He is so cute, and he was fun to paint.

The papers are from Coordinations and a K&Co pad called Spring Blossom by Susan Winget. The paper with the lily pads was perfect! I used a MS punch and a Spellbinders die (Fleur de Lis). My daughter made the great floral embellie. :) She used a Spellbinder die. I think it was the Dahlia. Then she added the Wild Orchid rose which she glittered up. You can see her beautiful creations here. I made the sentiment on my computer. It was quick and easy. I added rhinestones and some pearl cotton with seed beads for an extra touch.

I followed the sketch for Friday Sketchers and I am entering their challenge. I'm also entering the challenge at Delightful Challenges where they are looking for Pastels and Ribbon this week.

They All Look Like This!

I have noticed that when boys play video games, at least my boys, they always sit like this with an intense stare on their faces! If you stand in front of them to get their attention, they will do anything to look past you at the game! And DO NOT try unplugging the game! It only makes them very angry! lol :)

Anyway, this little guy was so adorable and reminded me of my Luke, so I made his birthday card with him. He is called, Computer Fun and is from Lily of the Valley. I love their stamps. They are so cute!!

I tried to keep it not too girlie :) I love to add flowers and bows, but that doesn't usually impress boys too much. I embossed the black strip of paper and the vellum circle with my Swiss Dot Cuttlebug folder. Embossing is great for adding visual interest when you don't want (or don't have) a patterned paper to match. I kept the bling to a minimum. The brads are matte finish and the only real bling is on the car where I used red Stickles.

I am entering this card in Cute Card Thursday. I used the sketch they had this week. It was perfect, clean and simple. I am also entering it in the Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge. Their challenge this week is "One for the Boys". The third challenge this card is entering is from Lily of the Valley. Their theme this week is "Punch It!" And I used my Spellbinders Large Circle dies for the front.

For My Shy Boy

I made this card using a great image from Mo's Digital Pencil. He's such a cutie called Shy Valentine Jason. I love using digital images because I can make them any size I want. I wanted this card to be special, without it being too girlie, so I left off any flowers and added green to my favorite purple. I painted my image with acrylics. The border punch is from Martha Stewart. It's so cute, it's great for children's cards or whimsical images. I added pearls to the corners, it can't be too plain. The papers are from a K&Co pad by Susan Winget called Botanicals. I love the colors and that I can make masculine and feminine cards from this pad.

I am entering this card in Mo's Challenge Blog. The challenge this week is to use a boy image. Since I have 2 little boys, it was fun to make something for them. I made an easel card, which are so fun to display. I used my Nesties (Labels 4) for the journaling spot on the inside. The top stays up with more adhesive pearls. (Love those things!)

Ladybug Birthday

I made this card for a friend for her birthday. She loves ladybugs and I loves images from Mo's so this little cutie, called Bye Bye, is perfect!! I found this image last fall and knew I wanted to use her for Martha's birthday! I didn't have alot of patterned paper in the colors I wanted to use so I felt challenged to make this card interesting. I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers to make my card. Since I was low on these papers I found it a little challenging, but I added that great lace from my stash (it must be vintage by now! lol) and I think thats ok for the square in the upper right corner. I used my artistic license I suppose. I am also entering this card in the Wild Orchid Challenge. This time the challenge is to use dies or punches. I used both. I used my Spellbinders large cirlces and a Martha Stewart border punch (I don't remember the name). I also used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder to emboss the white circle.

Of course I added flowers from Wild Orchid. My cards don't look complete without them! I added Stickles to the roses and cherry blossom. The pink heart stick pin is also from Wild Orchid and the white bead spray (I don't know what else to call it) is from the bridal department at Hobby Lobby. I just pull the pieces apart and they look great. Not too expensive either!

A Gift For You!

Here's a card that I made for my daughter's 20th birthday. I love the image and the papers. The colors are so fresh and fun, I just love them. And so does my daughter!

This sweet little girl is from TiddlyInks and she is called Annie's Prezzie. She is so cute and was so much fun to color in. The papers came from Hobby Lobby a while ago. I don't know who made them. I used Stickles for her bow and her cutie socks. I believe the rhinestone swirls are from Prima. (It's been so long since I made this card that I don't remember all the specifics.) I know the pearls are from Queen and Co. and I get them at AC Moore. They sell them for $1 a package and they coordinate with Coordinations paper that I get at Joanns. The ribbon was in my stash and I think it came off a box of chocolates or something. The color is perfect!

The beautiful flowers are from Wild Orchid. I just love their flowers!! I use the stems that I cut off to make the tendrils. I just wrap them around a very large tapestry needle. I adhere all my flowers with hot glue. It works quick and holds them permanently. Just make sure you put them in the right place the first time! I used my Spellbinders Labels 4 to hold my sentiment on the inside, and a Martha Stewart border punch to edge the inside paper.

You Are The One

Here's a card I made for my sweet hubby for Valentine's Day.

The image is a great digi from Motivet. Aren't they sweet? I have my own mini pet bunny so I am always drawn to anything with a bunny on it. The image is called Rabbits rowing. The papers are from a great DCWV pad. The designer is Susan Winget (love her stuff!!) and the collection is Botanicals. The nice thing is I can do feminine and masculine cards from this stack!

I paint all my images with acrylics. I use DecoArt Americana. I'm sure in person the ones everyone else does with copics are prettier, but this is what I have, so its what I use. The ribbon is probably vintage by now, its been in my stash forever! And the flowers are from Wild Orchid. I wish I could have every flower they make....maybe someday I will. lol

Today I have a card I made for a thank you for a special friend. I am certainly thinking of spring and this card is inspired by my thoughts of spring!

The beautiful papers are from Susan Winget's Spring Blossom Collection for K & Co. I love these papers! The solid papers are from Coordinations. I used my Fleur De Lis Spellbinders Shapeabilities for the photo corners. I used the small die and cut it in half diagonally.

This image is so sweet. I like to think I have sweet fairies like this in my garden. My picture is blurry but she is from Mo's Digital Pencil and she is called Teacup Fairy. I use DecoArt Americana paints to color my images. I love the look of Copic markers, but I have so many bottles of paint, so that's what I use.

The beautiful flowers are from Wild Orchid. The have the most beautiful flowers! I also added some DMC pearl cotton with some seed beeds from Mill Hill. The ribbons are from my stash. I don't if you can tell, but the green leaves under the pink cherry blossoms are made from silk ribbon. That touch comes from my stitching stash.

This is a card I made for my daughter's boyfriend to give my daughter on Valentine's Day. The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil. It is called Just a Knot. It is perfect for them because they are both tall and skinny, she wears flip-flops all summer long and he is always wearing his favorite grey baseball hat.

The papers are The Paper Studio and My Mind's Eye. I used a Martha Stewart border punch and punch around the page. The pearls are from Queen and Co. The ribbon came from Stampin' Up several years ago.

And all the beautiful flowers are from Wild Orchid. Their flowers are beautiful. I have placed 3 orders with them so far and can't wait to get more!
