Happy Graduation!

Hello again friends and thank you for stopping by.  The weather is beautiful here today, supposed to be a scorcher tomorrow.  I would offer you some lemonade and a comfy seat on my porch if you happened by my place.

Today I have a card for the challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's. They are looking for a card for dads or grads. I picked grads as I need a card for a young friend. I have been tutoring Hannah for the last year and a half and last Saturday she graduated! Her party is in a couple weeks and I'm so glad to have her card ready ahead of time! (I'm not always that good! lol) So anyway, I used the cute Callies Graduation Celebration. She is so excited to be graduating, kinda like Hannah :)
I colored Callie with my Prismacolor pencils. Her gown is blue since Hannah's was blue.
I used the sketch from Sassy Cheryl's last week since I never got a card made for last weeks challenge. It's a great sketch. It really highlights the paper I bought for this card. Hannah is not girlie. She can throw bales of hay with any guy and hold her own with anyone. Her favorite color is blue, so I figured I could slide all these flowers past her if they were her favorite color :) We'll see if it works! The flowers are from Wild Orchid. I added some light blue Stickles to the large rose. The small charm says: follow your heart, and that sounds just like Hannah.
Here's the inside.  I added Proverbs 3:5-6.  These are verses I hope she takes to heart and makes her own.  I stamped the corners of the writing panel with an old stamp from SU.
I used the same sketch on the back and you can really see the DP now!

I am entering my card in the following challenges:
Truly Scrumptious - Flower Power
I think that's about it.  Thanks for taking a peek!

Blessings & Hugs

Michelle

  1. This is sweetly elegant. Love the blend of those elegant flowers and embellies with that sweet-as-honey little girl. Once again, your coloring is fantastic. I'm studying your creations very carefully and copying some of the photos for my "lesson sheets". So you're a teacher and didn't know it! Love the card.

  2. What a lovely card, Michelle! I have that same DP (its a favorite!) and I always put that Bible verse on my graduation cards too! Love the layout, the cute image, all your embellies and your stitching! And, you know, this card shows "action" (she's running!) so you could post it as an extra at SSiC!
    Hugs!
