Hello ladies! Welcome. We are having some fun over at Stampin' Sisters in Christ this week. We are celebrating our 3rd birthday!!! How fun is that? To celebrate we are doing a blog hop. Our projects aren't posted on the challenge blog this week. Instead you need to hop around to get inspiration for your project. If you arrived here from Marilynn's blog you are on the right track!
Helen is our lovely hostess this week. This is the verse she chose for our inspiration:
"Jesus answered and said to him, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.'" John 3:3
Have you heard that before? Born again. Do you know what it means? In this portion of scripture Jesus goes on to explain to his companion (Nicodemus, who was actually a Jewish priest) that everyone is born once, physically. But in order to go to heaven we need to believe in Jesus and what He did on the cross and become born again. Before Jesus came the priests would offer animal sacrifices to atone for the sins of the people. But when Jesus, who was both God and man, died on the cross, shedding His blood, He became the ultimate sacrifice. He paid the price that we never could. But He didn't just die on the cross. If that's where it ended there would be no hope. Three days after His death Jesus rose again. He was alive. He conquered sin and death giving us a means to come before the Father clean, without sin. Jesus died once, for all. But we do have a choice to make. Do we believe Jesus died? Do we know we are separated from the Father because of our sin? Do we understand there is only ONE way to God and that is through His Son? It is so simple. Jesus loves us so much that "while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8) He loves you and wants that relationship with you. Won't you ask Him into your heart today?
Helen would like to see us make a birthday card (when we ask Jesus into our hearts we become "born again"). I hope you will play along with us this week!
For my birthday card I chose am image from Tiddly Inks called Wryn - Pick Up Sticks. I have another "child" who just turned 18. She is very feminine, but not girlie. Does that make sense? She has beautiful long hair and always paints her toes but she can throw hay bales all day long and isn't afraid to butcher anything on the farm. She is one tough cookie! Her favorite color is blue and she isn't it to flowers and stuff so much. She would way rather ride quads and dirt bikes with her brothers! So this cutie little Wryn seemed like the perfect choice. Hannah can also start her own campfire, no problem! :)
Isn't she adorable? This is so Hannah! I colored Wryn/Hannah with my Prismacolor pencils on Kraft. The colors just pop on this paper!
The sentiment on the banner came with Wryn along with a couple other images. It's truly a great deal! I sewed my layers and added a bundle of sticks tied with raffia. The DP is from MME. I just love their paper!
I followed the sketch on the inside also, even for the writing panel.
Here is the list from the hop: (if you get lost head back to SSiC and pick up the list again!)
For our prizes this week we actually have 3!! Our generous sponsors are:
