Shopping Our Stash #125

Hello friends!  It's Tuesday and time for another great challenge at Shopping Our Stash.  It's a simple one this week!  We want to see stitching, either real or faux, on your creation this week!

 First of I decided to use this great tag from Bety on etsy.  It's called Yuletide Tags and this set has several sweet images!  I used papers from my stash as well as two laces, brads and pearls!  I did lots of sewing, both straight and zig zag.  It's hard to see but the green layer is die cut with a new (to me) Spellbinders die.  That lace I used for the bow has been around for a long time and I was able to use up the very last of it!

 The inside shows the beautiful floral paper and I used the same sketch for the writing panel.

Shopping Our Stash #124

Hello again!  It's Tuesday and that means it's time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash.  This week we want to see your Halloween or orange and black creation.  I have to admit we don't celebrate Halloween but I came up with a fun "treat" for my daughter to share with her friend's at youth group.

I really wanted to make one of these medallions to put on a lollipop.  I was going to get a great image from etsy but I kept remembering what we do at Shopping Our Stash.  We use our old stuff.  So I looked through my really old stamps and found a great pumpkin stamp.  The paper is all very old from my stash....because really, how often do we use orange paper?  Me?  Rarely!  So I was very glad to use up the sheets I had left!

I cut the strips 1 1/2" wide.  My paper scraps were all different sizes, but I attached enough strips together to measure about 24" long.  I scored the strips every 1/2", folded them, joined the ends, then  glued the medallions to a small white circle.  I added the pumpkin image to the front and glued the lollipop to the back.

I'm thinking these would be great in many different colors with different images for lots of occasions!  Too bad all 8 of them took several hours.  Not sure if I will make so many at one time again!

Shopping Our Stash #123

**My bad!  I forgot to load my pictures on my blog.  I had it scheduled before I edited my pictures then completely forgot to add them!**

Welcome friends!  Thanks for stopping by today.  It's Tuesday and that means another great challenge at Shopping Our Stash.  This week we want to see your oldest ribbon, lace or fibers.  That pretty much leaves the door open to any creation you want to share with us!

I chose a great image from Betz over on etsy.  Her images are so beautiful.  I see something I "need" every time I stop by her shop!  I used a die to cut the image then I inked the edges.  The papers are all MME.  The snowflake corners are from Memory Box.  I decided to use lace on my card.  I can't remember if it was from my grandmother's stash or if I bought it at a flea market.  In any event it is pretty old.  

The inside shows the great papers (which I think match the image pretty well).  I used the same sketch for the writing panel.

Shopping Our Stash #122

It's time for another great challenge at Shopping Our Stash!  This week we are looking for your lovely creations showcasing wet or dry embossing.  You can do either or both and we want to see either 2 colors of embossing powder or 2 different embossing folders or a combination of the 2!  I felt the need to be an over achiever so I did 2 embossing powders and 2 embossing folders!

Here's what I came up with:

 I used a wonderful post card image from Beatriz's shop.  I love this set called Floral Postcards.  I printed it on kraft card stock and I love how it makes it a bit more vintage-y.  I stamped one of my favorite flourishes in opposite corners and embossed them in gold.  The other two corners have gold micro beads.  The other wet embossing is on the text paper in the background.  If you look in the lower right corner you'll see a bit of green.  That's what happens to clear embossing powder when it gets too hot....it matched so I let it go.  Also, if you look at the upper left you'll notice the corner is missing....that's what happens when you get the paper too close to the open flame.....yes, I am without an embossing gun and I shamelessly use the stove....don't worry, I didn't set anything on fire!  The dry embossing is on the pink mat behind the image.  I used the Swiss Dot folder.  The dark pink paper is embossed with "post card" folder from Tim Holtz.  I brushed all the embossing and the edges of my paper with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink.  I added cheesecloth, flowers, beads, seam binding and a floral brad all from my stash.  The papers are new, I admit that!

Here you can see the post card embossing and the gold micro beads.  I love the look of those things!!  They love to dance across my table though!

Shopping Our Stash #121

Hello friends and welcome!  Today it's time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash.  This week we want to see "Pink".  October is breast cancer awareness month and in that honor we want to see your creations with pink on them.

 Here is my take on our theme.  I chose this beautiful vintage image from Beatriz on etsy.  This comes from the set called Floral Postcards.  There are 3 other images in this collection.  They are all wonderful.  I printed the image on kraft card stock and inked the edges of the layers with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo.  I used a die from Becca Feeken behind the main image.  I added pearls from my stash and a sheer bow.

 On the inside you can see the beautiful paper from MME.  I love all their papers.  I'm thinking of buying a large stash of this print since it is my favorite.

Shopping Our Stash #120

Hello cyber friends!  Thanks for stopping by today.  It's time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash.  This week we want to see you make something for a child.  Easy right?

First off, I used a super cute image from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I love her images and boy does she have some cute new ones in the store!  This one, Chocolate Smile is actually from my "stash".  I've had it for a while and decided it was time to use it again!  I colored this cutie with my Prismacolor pencils.

 I used this chocolate chip paper that has been in my stash for too long!  I made a sleeve for a candy bar!

 There's a piece of card stock inside and the ribbons (also from my stash) go through some holes in the sleeve, loop around the bottom of the card stock and are knotted at the top.

 I put the image on a small card so a sentiment can be written for the child.

Shopping Our Stash #119

Hello friends and Happy Tuesday!!  It's time for another stash-busting challenge at Shopping Our Stash!  This week we want you to pull out your oldest flowers to add to your card creation.  I immediately knew which ones I would grab...

First off, I used this adorable image from Wee Stamps.  She is called Wee Florist and can be found in Sylvia's store.  Her images are so sweet and I always love coloring them with my Prismacolor pencils.

 I used paper from Lost and Found 2 by MME.  I love their paper and the floral one here is probably one of my favorites.  I inked and sewed all the edges.  The pearl flourish gave me a bit of trouble....it stuck to me, the table, itself....hence its ragged appearance!  The seam binding and lace are from my stash.  The flowers are "silk" ribbon roses from 20+ years ago.  And they are far from silk.  I used to use so many of these in my craft show days.  I still have one small bag of them.  I used 12 of them on this card!!
