Shopping Our Stash #67

Hello again dear friends and welcome to my spot!  Hope you enjoy your stay!

Today I have a card for the new challenge over at Shopping Our Stash.  This week our challenge is "Wooden It Be Nice".  We want to see anything that reflects wood.  Wood grain, wood embellishments, trees, log cabins....you get the picture.  So, I decided to run right over to Hobby Lobby and buy a new embossing folder that looks like bark.  (No sitting around gathering dust for my new stuff this week!)  And while I was there several pieces of paper jumped into my hand too!  I did however dive into my stash for the adorable image, the brads and the sentiment stamp.  And here he is:
This is DIY Chester from Pollycraft.  I bought him several months ago just before she closed her online shop.  (She has the most adorable new baby boy!!)  Many of her images are available over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps although I didn't see this one.  Maybe he can be added to the shop if you are interested.  I colored Chester with my Prismacolor pencils on kraft paper.  Love how the colors just pop on kraft!  (do you see the spots on his nose?  I'll explain those in a minute.)
Here's my card.  I used the embossing folder to make some planks of "wood" and held them together with "screws" (or brads if you must know!).  I made this card for one of my boys.  He works as a contractor and he does an amazing job with tile.....and my shower was falling apart....and he tiled it for me... and it looks AMAZING!!!!  He always wears a white Tee shirt (because it's easier to clean) and I tell him all the time that I love his freckles (so I had to add some to Chester!).  :)  He didn't want me to pay him so I decided to make a card and....
on the inside I added more "wood" planks. The one on the left is for me to slip some cash into before I give him the card.  He is always so patient with me when I show him my new cards.  He never comments with just "nice" or "that's pretty".  He always inspects the whole thing then comments about something specific like "I really like that paper" or " "didn't you use that image before?" (he is right every time I re-use an image.)  So, this card is for him.  A little thank you for spending a week of evenings doing my shower tile.

Now be sure to stop by the other SOS blogs and see what amazing creations they have for you this week!  Then play along with our "Wooden It Be Nice" challenge.  Be sure to tell us what you used from your stash!

I think that's about it.  Thanks for taking a peek!

Blessings & Hugs,

Michelle

We have lots of freckles at our house, too! I saw a saying a few years ago that I love... "A face without freckles is like a night sky without stars"
