I Think You're Sweet

**Editor's Note**  I found out just today that the lovely Jacqui (creator of the sweet images from The Digi Garden) passed away on Wednesday.  I wish to extend my sincere sympathy to her family.  The store will be closing.  There is a message on the store site if you need assistance with an order you have already placed.

Happy Friday friends!  Today I have another fun Valentine project for you!

I used an image from The Digi Garden, Ursula's Big Heart.

I colored little Ursula with my Prismacolor pencils and added fine glitter to her heart.  It is so sparkly!!

 This DP was a scrap in my stash.  The sentiment was one from the dollar bin at Joanns.  The ribbons are from stash as well.

Here you can see that this isn't a card but rather a sleeve to hold a yummy treat for someone special!  A friend gave me one like this and I copied the measurements so I could make my own.  There are holes punched through the layers of the sleeve and ribbon is threaded through them and around the card stock.  The card stock does not come out of the sleeve so the candy won't fall out.  This is a quick project to put together for gifts.

Another Digi Garden Valentine

Hello friends.  This post is a bit (ok a lot) late, but here it is!

I have another small project using another sweet image from The Digi Garden.  The store is getting more and more full.  If you haven't stopped by lately you really should.  Jacqi has been very busy and there are so many cuties to choose from.

 Here's one of the new Valentine girls she whipped up  ;)  I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils and added pink Stickles to her hearts.

I made a small treat holder for a friend's daughter.  She is very "girlie" and I hope she likes it.  I made the banner with stash!  I stitch a lot of Christmas ornaments and I almost always add home-made cording to the edges.  Whatever few inches are left I knot off and put in my stitching stash.  This piece of cording was the exact size I needed.  I have a small canning jar I use for small bits of ribbon (I throw very little away and I try to put it to good use).  These ribbon bits were in that jar.  I notched one end and taped them around the cord.  The heart brads are not only the perfect color they are stash busters as well!  The adorable DP was another scrap.  It fit perfect with a small piece left over.  I used a Nestability die to cut my oval.

 Here you can see how I folded the paper around the small bag of candy.  The back has a small notch to keep the top closed.

You Warm My Heart

Hello friends!  My posts have been a bit scarce lately but I think I am getting back on track.  It's Friday and that means another project using the super cute images from The Digi Garden.

With Valentine's Day fast approaching I wanted to make some things to give away to some friends and my family.

 I chose Molly's Heart Peeker for this project.  I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils and added pink Stickles to her hearts.

 I cut her out with a circle die.  I trimmed around her heart and hand first so they would "peek" outside the circle.  I mounted her on red, then a a paper doily.  I had just enough of the ribbon for the 2 corners and a double loop bow.  I used a MS border punch along the bottom.

This is actually a "matchbook" holding a packet of cocoa on the inside.  I made the sentiment on my computer.  I thought this would be a sweet gift for someone on Valentine's Day.

Hello friends!  It's Friday and I have a fun card using an image from The Digi Garden.

There are some great new images in the shop so pop on over after you see the fun one I used today!

Isn't Ursula adorable?  I have colored her using my Prismacolor pencils.  Pink and brown is such a great color combo!

 I wanted this to be a fun card for a child so I added a small pocket to the front for some tic tacs.  These are pink and match my paper very well  ;)  The lace, ribbon, brads and "I*heart*You" button are from my stash.  I am all about using my stash so I am excited about the different things I used!

 I printed the sentiments from my computer.  I tried to match the font from the button on the front.

Winter Plaid Girl

Hello again!  It's Friday and that means another fun project using an image from The Digi Garden.

 Isn't she adorable??  She is all ready for school in her warm winter clothes!  I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils.  She is matted twice and I inked the edges of the image.  I also added some pearls.

 I embossed the blue panel with my swiss dot folder.  The red and blue trim has been in my stash FOREVER!  I stitched the pieces down and wove them together where they crossed.  That great blue bow was already tied and sitting in my ribbon box.  How handy is that??

I decided to use this cutie on a small gift bag.  I rolled the top down, punched holes and threaded the sheer, red ribbon through.  I think this would be so sweet to hold a gift for a little girl.

You're An Angel

Morning friends!  Time for another project using a cute image from The Digi Garden.

 I used this sweet little angel and colored her with my Prismacolor pencils.

 I matted her twice and put her on a simple kraft tag.  I used a MS punch for the bottom and inked all the edges.  I used a wide piece of lace from my stash and even used another lace for the top of the tag.

Here you can see the angel is actually on a small card.  I left the inside blank so you can add your own message.

There are so many cute images at The Digi Garden, I'm sure you'll find something to play with!

Time for Cocoa!

Hello friends!  It's Friday and time for another project using a super cute image from The Digi Garden.

This time I decided to use Edward's Winter Outfit 1.  I colored Edward with my Prismacolor pencils.  The eyelets are from my stash.  They are from years ago.  I used to have such trouble setting them so I stopped using them.  These were pretty easy so I may use up the rest of them soon!

The DP is from a stack at least 2 years old.  I haven't used very much of it so I've been thinking I should try to incorporate it into more projects.  I embossed the brown panel with a snowflake embossing folder.  The ribbon is from my stash and was the last piece!!  The cute snowflake beads are from my daughter's stash and I thought they were so cute on here.

I had been thinking about making something you could give to a young boy.  Something as a little thank you.  I cut my DP in a long rectangle and scored it to fold into a holder for a packet of cocoa.  The design may need a little work, but for the first one I like how it turned out.  The sentiment is PTI and the tag die is from Becca Feeken.

The Digi Garden - Pink, Pink Christmas

Hello friends!  It's Friday so that means it's time for another card featuring the super cute images from The Digi Garden.

This time around I had a request to make a very, very pink Christmas card with an image of a girl with curly hair.  The darling Jaqci happened to post some right after this request!!  How cool is that?

I chose Molly's Skates for this card.  I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils and added some silver stickles to her buttons and tinsel glitter to her hat and scarf.

 This DP is from an older stack from K&Co called Secret Santa.  The buttons and trim are from my stash.  The flower is a very cool one I bought at my LCS a couple weeks ago.  The tag is punched with a die from Becca Feeken and the sentiment is PTI.

 I made the writing panel a bit smaller so you could see the fun DP.

Pink & Green Christmas

Hello friends.  It's Friday so that means it's time for another card featuring the super cute images from The Digi Garden.

Today I chose Emily's Ice Skates.

I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils (although as I look at my coloring here on the computer I am not so impressed  :(  my daughter and I have pink eye and things get a bit blurry right now...).  The colors were inspired by the fun paper stack from K&Co called Secret Santa.  I added green glitter to her pompom and the dots on her scarf.

I decided to mount the image on a stocking shape.  And of course, me being me, I decided a paper stocking wasn't good enough, it needed to be felt.  So, I broke into my felt stash (yes I have many many different stashes) and made a real stocking.  The top even opens so you can add a gift card or other small gift.  I added a green "cuff" and some pompom fringe to the top.  I also sewed some buttons to the corners of the card.

On the inside I added a paper stocking for the writing panel.

Just a Note - Plaid Girl

Hello friends.  It's Friday so that means it's time for another card featuring the adorable images from The Digi Garden.

For this fun card I used Ursula in her plaid skirt.

 These images are so sweet and Jacq continues to add more to the shop.  You really should check out her selection!

 I used a fun DP I picked up at Joanns a while back.  It's a great paper for young girls.  They all love it! I didn't want to cover up the paper too much so I just added a banner I hand cut and embossed with my swiss dot folder.  The sentiment is from PTI and makes this a pretty general card.

 I wanted the inside to show off more of the paper so I made the writing panel a little smaller.

In real life these papers really do match better than it seems!

Celebrate with Cupcakes!

Hello friends!  It's Friday so that means it's time for another card for The Digi Garden.

Today I have a sweet image, Ursula's Cupcake with a Cherry on Top.

 I colored this cutie with my Prismacolor pencils.

 I used this week's sketch from Mojo Monday.  I added some lace around the embossed layer.  It was just short for what I needed but with the flowers in the corner you can't tell!  I added a tag I cut with a new die from Becca Feeken and stamped with a tiny stamp from PTI.  That tiny bow was the last of that pink ribbon.  (I love using up stash!)

 On the inside you can see the great DP.  It fits perfect with the image.

The Digi Garden Scarecrow Box

Hello dear friends!  Welcome to my little papered cottage!  Enjoy your stay!

Since it's Friday I have another project for The Digi Garden.  This time around I chose to make a box for potpourri.  I had seen the idea on Becca Feeken's blog months ago.  She had made a very elegant box and I have been wanting to do something similar.  Mine is not elegant, but I think it is fun and it will look great on my enclosed porch for the fall.

 I used Patches the Scarecrow for my box.  Isn't he the cutest thing??  (although my girl, Hannah, has decided its a girl scarecrow and her name is Eliza  :)  I told her I would let all of you know that!  lol)  I colored him with my Prismacolor pencils, then cut him out and matted him on dark brown.

 Here's the front of the bow.  After I inked and sewed my layers I cut out the center with my oval nestie.  I cut out an oval in the side of the box as well.  I added a piece of Pet Screen to the opening.  You can buy this stuff at the hardware store, but you can also get it at a lot of quilt shops.  The first time I used it I made a whole bunch of small tote bags that were very sturdy.  I had run out of the original package, but our dog and cat like to look out the screen door in the summer.  They don't try to make holes, but when they get on their hind legs to look out sometimes their claws would get stuck in the screen.  A couple years ago I purchased Pet Screen again and replaced the screen in the door.  They have not put a single hole in the screen after 3 summers.  Great stuff!  Anyway, I had some left over and I decided to use it in the openings of the box.  This way you can smell the potpourri but it is contained.  

 Here's the top of the box.  I used a Memory Box die to cut the little doily.  I glued a pumpkin on top of that.

You can't see that I have some scented pine cones in there, but I do.  The open box allows the scent to come through nicely!

Digi Garden Friday

Happy Friday!  I hope its a great day for you!

Today I have another card using another adorable image from The Digi Garden.  These little guys are all so cute!  I am making a good start on my Christmas cards with these images.

I chose a different color scheme this time, but it matches the fun paper from my K&Co stack called Secret Santa.  I don't think there is one color scheme for Christmas anymore.  Have you walked down the ornament aisle at Hobby Lobby the last couple of years?  (My enclosed porch gets decorated in bubblegum pink, electric blue and lime green....and it is so cute!! I'll share pictures when it's decorated!)  I colored my image with my Prismas and added tinsel glitter to her hat.

I decided to make this whole card look like a present.  I inked the edges of my paper and added lots of pearls to the corners.  The ribbon is from my stash and was just the right length.  It was meant to be! 

This paper from the stack is so much fun!  I've had it for a long time and could never figure out where to use it.  I think it looks great in here and makes it obvious what this card is for!
