Master List #9

Guys?  I am on a roll!  This is crazy!  I am so excited to be finishing the list that's been in my sewing room for months.  And my boy that inspired me to finish things is blown away that the list is almost done!  I don't think he realized how much he motivated me!

I started today's project about 3 years ago.  I finished the first one and didn't like the bottom so I put it down.  For 3 years!  Terrible excuse I know, because when I put my mind to it I fixed the bottom of the first and knitted the second in a week.  Crazy, right?
(Yes, my legs are very pasty....sorry bout that!)  I saw these leg warmers on Patternfish and loved the detail.  I love knitting cables!  These also have beads, lots of beads actually, but you can't see them.  The pattern is called Continuum and includes 2 shorter versions.  My shoes are a great new find from Kohls.  They were on the clearance rack and they had to come home with me!  Aren't they great!?

Hopefully I'll be back next Wednesday with another project.  I'm working hard on a small quilt.

I think that's about it.  Thanks for taking a peek!

Master List #8

Happy Wednesday to you!  It's another snowy day here; the kids and I may have to play in the snow again today.  Since it's Wednesday that means it's time to show you another project I have completed off my Master List.  This one was a bit tougher.  I finished it about midnight last night!  PHEW!
This is my youngest, Josiah.  Several years ago I made him a sweater very similar to this one and he wore it all the time, nearly everyday.  He was sad when he outgrew it.  The yarn came from a friend who doesn't knit anymore.  Skeins and skeins of wool.  Since I had enough to make another sweater I decided to make him another one.  I really wish I had completed it sooner for him but at least it's done now.
He is such a sweet boy.  Still my "little" boy in many ways.  It is crazy cold this morning and snowing but he willing went outside with me to get a good pic in front of the barn.  Not one complaint or anything.  As I look at the picture I am reminded how I was ready to pull the whole thing out just a week ago.  I was following the pattern and my measurements were lining up perfectly but to me it looked huge.  It's meant to be over-sized but I think because I worked it in the round to the arm holes it looked even bigger.  I was this close to pulling the whole thing out.  I'm so glad I didn't because I think it looks just right on him.

I'm so glad you stopped by today.  I would share some hot cocoa with you if I could.  Thanks for taking a peek!

Michelle

#6 from my Master List

Happy Wednesday!  Yesterday was Christmas and I hope it was a wonderful day for you and your family.

Today I have project #6 from my Master List.  (If you haven't been here on Wednesday's I'll tell you I had a list of projects in my sewing room that had been there a while.  My son pointed out that nothing was being accomplished on the list so I decided to get busy.  I challenged myself to finish and post something every Wednesday.  So far so good!)  Today is a stocking I had started for the same son a couple years ago.  There wasn't much left.  I had wanted to finish it last year but the tendinitis in my wrists wouldn't let that happen.
Isn't this the cutest thing??  I love these penguins.  The shading is wonderful and they turned out so cute!  I filled this with some food that he loves as well as this little cutie:
How cute is this??  My boy loves hedgehogs and when I saw this on Pinterest I knew I had to make him one.  It really was quick and easy.  Took less than 2 hours I believe.  You can find the instructions here.

I think that's about it.  Thanks for taking a peek!

#6 On My Master List

Good morning lovely friends.  Somehow I am staying on track with my Master List.  I am so glad for that!  Today I have a project that I have wanted to make for *wait for it* 8 *gasp* years!!  Let me just say I hadn't started this project before last week.
When I first saw this design in Decorative Artists Workbook in 2004 I knew my best friend Donna would love it, and I have thought about it every Christmas and birthday since then.  It finally was put on my list and now it's done.  I used to paint so much better.  My brushes are a bit hammered and my paint was clumpy but I persevered and the results aren't too bad.
My boy told me he thought the angel looked worried or nervous.  Maybe she does.  Hopefully Donna will like her anyway!
This picture is really dark, the sun light wasn't cooperating with me, but I hope you can see the details.

I'm working on my project to post next week.  Hopefully I will stay on track!

I think that's about it.  Thanks for taking a peek!
