Hello friends! I have a different sort of project to share with you today. I have a list in my studio, near my sewing machine, of projects that need to be done. A couple weeks ago one of my boys pointed out that the list was labeled "June 2012". "That's a long time ago," he said. "I know." "There's nothing crossed off," he continued. "I know." "What do the months in between look like?" he questioned me. I had no reply. "Ya know, maybe you should take a break once in a while from your cards and finish some of those things." (He can be very sassy. Wonder where he gets that from.......?)
So, I looked over the list, rewrote it, titled it "Master List" (he thought that was very clever) and posted it again. And I decided he was right. Those projects needed to get done. I have set a goal to post one project that I finish off that list every Wednesday (yes, I know it's Thursday) until the list is done. If I stay on track that would have the list done the first Wednesday in February.
Here is the first thing I finished.
This is a piece that was in the July 2010 issue of Cross Stitch and Needlework. It is designed by one of my favorite designers, Gail Bussi, whom I believe is from South Africa. I love her pieces and actually have stitched a fair number of them over the years, both for myself and for gifts. I finished the stitching almost 2 years ago and it has been in the basket on my shelf ever since. I wanted to turn it into a pillow for my enclosed porch, so Tuesday I did just that.
I pulled some fabric from my stash (I am also a quilter) and set to work. In a couple hours it was done. I took this photo on my porch today. Like I said I planned to post these on Wednesdays, but a wicked headache side-lined me yesterday and I spent most of the afternoon on the couch. The sun is so bright today I had to pull the shades on the porch to get a good picture.
Here is my settee. I made the cushion a while back, its a bit flat but I love the colors. I don't spend much time out there this time of year, but with the ceiling fan it is wonderful all summer long!
Anyway, there's the first project! Project 2 is done and number 3 is on my sewing table. So far so good!
I think that's about it. Thanks for taking a peek!
Blessings & Hugs,
Michelle
